1. CE, AL及DSE 課程比較
CE和AL合共讀四年, 但DSE只花大家三年時間, 所以DSE Physics所涵蓋的物理學範疇自然較少.
CE Physics分為五大部份:
- Heat (
temperature, heat and internal energy; transfer processes; change of states)
- Mechanics (
position and movement; force and motion; work, energy and power; momentum)
- Waves (
nature and properties of waves; light; sound)
- Electricity and Magnetism (
electrostatics; current and domestic electricity; electromagnetism)
- Atomic Physics (
radiation and radioactivity; atomic model; nuclear energy)
AL Physics分為四大部份:
- Mechanics (
statics; kinematics; dynamics; projectile motion; circular motion; gravitation; oscillation)
- Wave Motion (
wave propagation; wave phenomena; stationary waves; acoustics; optical instruments)
- Fields, Electricity and Electromagnetism (
electric fields; capacitors; current electricity; electromagnetism; electromagnetic induction; alternating currents)
- Matter (
gases, solids, fluids; electrons; extra-nuclear structure; radioactivity; conservation of energy and mass)
DSE Physics (compulsory)分為五大部份:
- Heat and Gases
- Force and Motion
- Wave Motion
- Electricity and Magnetism
- Radioactivity and Nuclear Energy
當仔細看看DSE的課程, 不難發現它是建基於CE再從AL抽取一些較簡單的部份作為延伸.
DSE中非CE課程的部份包括:
Heat and Gases
- Gases (
general gas law; kinetic theory)
主要是利用ideal gas law, pV = nRT及其一些變種來解決問題, 另外就是從微觀的角度嘗試推導出ideal gas law.
Force and Motion
- Projectile Motion
只是uniformly accelerated motions加上了角度而已, 沒甚麼新奇之處.
- Uniform Circular Motion
主要是想大家學習一些ratational dynamics的入門, 大家可能未必太易接受.
- Gravitation
主要是想介紹Newton's law of universal gravitation, F = GMm/r

Wave Motion
- Stationary Waves (in Nature and Properties of Waves)
主要是qualitative description, 計算應該也不會太繁複.
- Thin Lens Formula (in Light)
介紹一條十分好用的thin lens formula, 1/u + 1/v = 1/f, 所有問題頓時變得簡單.
- Quantitative Treatment of Interference Pattern (in Light)
用兩條式子來解釋看到的現象.
Electricity and Magnetism
- Quantitative Treatment of Electric Charges (in Electrostatics)
主要介紹Coulomb's law, F = kQq/r

- Quantitative Treatment of Electric Field (in Electrostatics)
主要介紹E = kQ/r
2.
- Quantitative Treatment of Electric Potential (in Electrostatics)
主要介紹V = kQq/r.
- Quantitative Treatment of Magnetic Force (in Electromagnetism)
學一條式子, F = qvB sin
θ.
- Quantitative Treatment of Magnetic Field (in Electromagnetism)
學兩三條式子來計算比較常見的磁場強度.
- Hall Effect (in Electromagnetism)
數學上有點繁複, 但實際上十分有用.
- Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction (in Electromagnetism)
如果有一點點微積分的基礎會好一點.
- Alternating Current (in Electromagnetism)
以前AL的重頭戲之一, 但在新課程中應該會把難度相應降低.
Radioactivity and Nuclear Energy
- Exponential Law of Decay (in Radiation and Radioactivity)
主要介紹一條decay law, 有一些學校在以往的CE課程中也會教.
- Mass-Energy Relationship (in Nuclear Energy)
介紹一條大家都應該聽過的E = mc
2.
註: 基本上以上所有新加的課題都是源自AL課程.
當中Heat, Mechanics中的變動最少, 只是外加一兩個簡單的課題.
而餘下的Wave, E&M, Radioactivity部份則主要加上量化處理.
2. 適合DSE Physics的練習
由於DSE課程大部分是基於CE課程, 所以小薯建議大家先把CE課程學好.
所以小薯建議大家在沒有標明非CE課程的課題溫熟, 然後做大約十至十五年的CE試題.
之後溫熟標明非CE課程的課題, 做一些為DSE課程而設的分類練習或AL的分類試題.
需知道不論CE或AL, 試題都是經過千錘百鍊才面世, 所以較一般的坊間練習出得嚴謹.
註: 小薯認為不需找CE的書或練習, 因為相信DSE的課本比起CE的書所提及的只會更多, 所以不用多此一舉.
