我都係DSE 考生呀, 我之前補FRENDA 我覺得佢講D野麻麻地易明 同埋教得太快(可能我資質低 )
我之後轉補AARON,佢教D CONCEPT 好易明同埋清淅好多.我覺得你可以試下

Spoonfeeding Kills One's Ability to Learn How to Learn

> 有邊位補習老師推介呀

Hey, I would suggest you to think about WHY you look for a private tutor.  As you are a learner, the only person who can help improving the performance of a certain subject is YOURSELF.  What and how much you can learn depends on how much efforts you have devoted to it and whether you have employed the appropriate learning techniques for your study.  Indeed, if you keep relying on others, you would lose your ability to learn HOW to learn so that you may fail to grow up, and think and work independently when solving problems in your life!!!

Hence, may you try to see if you can find ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of learning by yourself, where you have already been taught with the concepts in your school.  Should you discuss with your teachers and/or mentors so as to come up with a tailor-made solution for your study.  Nevertheless, you can refer to the following guidance as a blueprint for effective learning.  In other words, what you expect to acquire from a (famous) private tutor can indeed be obtained merely by effective learning (self-revision study), that can greatly save your money from your pocket (or your parents' pockets) as well!!!

Good luck to your study

The most important thing should you note is WHETHER you have a CLEAR UNDERSTANDING of concepts taught IN ADVANCE.  If not, one may not achieve much improvement NO MATTER HOW MANY exercises you have done.

http://lsforum.net/board/thread-174381-2-1.html  (13#)

I would suggest you to do the following (This approach is GENERIC so that one can apply to most HKCEE/HKALE/HKDSE subjects as well as the university study):

1)   Read the textbooks (or some good/useful textbooks/reference books), with reference to the HKALE syllabi (http://www.edb.gov.hk/index.aspx?nodeID=2899 for Mathematics subjects)
2)   Read your class notes, and prepare some notes/summary to supplement any important points/ideas not found in the notes
3)   For both 1) and 2), make sure that you have a complete understanding of the concepts taught, and mark down what you do not understand
       -  complete understanding:  what it is for, how it can be used, and under what circumstances it can be applied (be aware of conditions for application)
4)   Approach your teacher(s) for clarifications of what you do not understand
5)   Do some exercises from your textbooks, and see anything you do not understand (and repeat 4)
6)   Once you have a good understanding of most concepts for the syllabi, drill with some past paper questions so that you can idenify your strengths and weaknesses (time allocation, questions familar with and unfamilar with, etc.)
7)   Use the findings (strengths and weaknesses) from 6) for revision, paying more emphasis to those topics you may perform weaker and/or slower

http://lsforum.net/board/thread-174381-3-1.html (25#)

Practice is important, but one MUST ALREADY have a good understanding on the concepts taught IN ADVANCE.  Thus, practice alone is NOT sufficient to learning as it only reinforces what you HAVE LEARNT.  Moreover, it is very important to make use of the feedback from practice properly so that you use the feedback to improve your weaknesses.

For example, if you find that you do not have good understanding on some concepts, review the captioned concepts from your textbooks and notes, and consult with your teachers, if needed, so as to clarify them.  (Points 4-7 in Article 13#).

Extracted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Practice_%28learning_method%29:

How well one improves with practice depends on several factors, such as the frequency it is engaged in, and the type of feedback that is available for improvement. If feedback is not appropriate (either from an instructor or from self-reference to an information source), then the practice tends to be ineffective or even detrimental to learning ...

Given that practice is merely the reinforcement of actions that serve to generate an outcome or outcomes, it is believed that by improving the type of practice you do, you can in turn generate results at a faster rate ...
