上回提及，67~69年的Maths卷竟然有AMaths和Pure的東西出現......

70年，Syllabus A手上有Paper II、III兩卷，而Syllabus B則有Paper I、II兩卷。

Syllabus A較為「正常」，主要是一些Arithmetic、Trigo、Algebra和Geometry的題目，當中夾雜著些Probability。換句話說，Modern Maths似乎出現了。

1970(A) II 3.(a) A rectangular block of lead, 4cm by 6cm by 8cm, was melted down and cast into solid spheres of 2 cm
                       diameter. How many complete solid spheres could be made?  (6 marks)
1970(A) II 7.(a) The expression px^3 - x^2 + qx + 6 is divisible by x + 2 and has a remainder of 30 when divided by x - 3.
                       Find the values of p and q.  (6 marks)
1970(A) III 17. (a) ABCDE is a regular pentagon inscribed in a circle. AC meets BE at P. Prove that AB + BP = AC.

最後一題（1970(A) II 17. (a) ）是沒有圖的，考生似乎需要自己下手畫圖......

Syllabus B題目則仍持續有一些令人嘆為觀止的內容......而在眾多我的收集中，Maths卷在這一年第一次出現MC題目（之前的年份應該都有，不過我未能收集到），而這些MC，就是令我們望而生畏的Syllabus B......

1970(B) I 2. f : (x,y) → (-x,-y) and g : (x,y) → (-y,x) are transformations of the plane. If we apply f and then g, the composition
                  transformation is denoted by h. Which of the following is h?
              A. h : (x,y) → (x,-y)
              B. h : (x,y) → (-x,y)
              C. h : (x,y) → (y,-x)
              D. h : (x,y) → (y,x)
              E. h : (x,y) → (-y,-x)

大家沒想到transformation都可以這樣Pro吧！（這題目是沒有圖的......）

厲害吧！還有更令人一頭霧水的在後頭......
1970(B) I 19. Let * be a binary operation on R defined by x * y = x + 2y for all x, y Î R.
                    Which of the following statements is/are true?
                      I.    This binary operation is associative.
                      II.   The set R is closed with respect to this binary operation.
                      III.  This binary operation is commutative.
                    A. Only I
                    B. Only II
                    C. Only III
                    D. Only I and II
                    E. I, II and III

70年Syllabus B的Paper I共有20題MC，和14題SQ，當中包含非常多的set operations，尤有甚者，更有Trigo、Geometry、Matrix，堆集在Paper I，兩小時完卷。顯而易見，是for more capable students吧！

至於Paper II，則繼續Paper I 的惡夢......再加上Probability和Stat的題目，真是......
給一個Matrix的例子吧！
1970(B) 1.(a) Find the 2 x 2 matrix A such that
                            1   2      3   2        1  -1         1    0
                     A   (        ) [(        ) + (        )] = (        )
                           -2   1      1   0        0  -2         0    1

Display的限制，令以上的題目有些亂，但足見Maths Syllabus B的威力吧！
71~73年繼續有可怕題目，下次再大概地分享吧！而接續的74年，則是非常混亂的一年......共有4個Syllabus！

i think,....ok la...if you have learnt the topic..the questions are not such that horrible....
just the tragedy that the syll has been cut part by part.....

But for CE students, it seems that the questions are horrible because they do not familliar with them...

That's pure maths questions!! Horrible!

i think HKEA should not cut the syllabus...

escpaing from the weakness is not an optimistic solution...
why not enable candidiates to be familaiirzed with different kinds  ...

再加一半pure math丫
