Wisdom and appearance are two important judging factors of people. Someone like to be beautiful but someone want to be clever. I think 'it is more important to be clever than beautiful or handsome'.
Being clever can help personal development. A smart person may have valuable personal qualities, e.g. critical thinking and creativity, which are far more essential than beauty. As people will become old one day, they will lose their attractive outlook. But these qualities will follow them throughout their lifetime.
Wisdom can improve social relationships. A pretty or handsome outlook may help in meeting new friends, but it cannot help in developing close relationships. A pretty but dull girl would not be popular in a party. Oppsitely, a normal-looking girl with gorious talking skills would catch people's eyes. In real life, there are various cases like this.
In a knowledge-based society, cleverness plays a major role in jobs. A good appearance certainly helps in the interview. But the main concern of working abilities is always not the appearance. For example, Kung Yu Sum does not have a beautiful outlook but she is a very successful businesswoman. When we are working, we are using our brains but not our faces. People still have to use their wisdom to solve problems and get opportunities, even they work in some industries which relay on appearance.Take an instance, there are many beautiful ladies want to be a top model but only those with minds can achieve their dreams.
To be charming and popular, the key is not appearance but wisdom.
